Hello

About the travel mommy

Hi, I'm so glad you found your way here. I'm a mom of two small, opinionated travel companions, and The Travel Mommy is where I keep everything we've learned about taking big trips with little people — the wins, the disasters, and the packing list that finally works.

Here's what nobody tells you when the baby arrives: you don't have to stop traveling. You have to travel differently — slower, earlier in the day, with more snacks than seems reasonable — but the world doesn't close because your carry-on now contains a white-noise machine. We've done international flights with a lap infant, all-inclusive weeks that saved my sanity, and road trips timed to the minute around nap windows. Most of it worked. All of it taught me something worth writing down.

You'll find five things here: honest destination guides sorted by the age you're traveling with, baby travel know-how from newborn documents to jet lag, family resort roundups without the brochure gloss, packing lists and gear that earn their suitcase space, and flights & road trips advice for actually getting there.

What you won't find: fear-mongering, perfection, or recommendations for anything I haven't personally hauled through an airport. If it's on this site, it survived contact with my actual children.

Start with the big destinations guide if you're dreaming, or the packing list if you're leaving Friday. Either way — the tiny passenger will be fine. Promise.
